Writing Tips

1. If you can't write for God, then don't write at all. It's not worth writing for yourself.

2. Never let your writing get in the way of your time with Jesus.

3. Don't be afraid to let other people read what you write. Yes, they will criticize you, and you will probably be humiliated, but don't let that stop you from allowing them to read what you write.

4. Listen to the advice of others. If someone is willing to take the time to give you an opinion, don't brush it off or get mad at them for criticizing. Listening to the counsel of others, will make you a better writer.

5. Don't take any criticism personally. Just because people don't like what you write doesn't mean they don't like you.

6. Pray about what you write.

7. Never write anything that you wouldn't want your mom to read.

8. Write, write, and don't stop writing. It's the surest way to improve.

9. Try to clearly picture what you're writing. If you don't know what you're writing about, your reader won't know what they're reading about.

10. Don't be afraid to act out scenes to give you a feel for them. You might need to get people's help to do this, but it will give your writing more credibility if you actually know what you're talking about.
